Partnership announcement between the ‘Commonwealth Fashion Council’ and the ‘Global Conscious Movement’

The Commonwealth Fashion Council (CFC) is excited to announce our new partnership with the Global Conscious Movement (GCM).

GCM International Consultancy seeks to bring together professionals and leaders established in their respective fields to create a network of professionals committed to working together to assist in the creation of the world’s most ethical and compassionate systems, institutions and companies.

Safia Iman, Director of GCM said: ‘GCM is very proud to be partnering with the Commonwealth Fashion Council in order to bring to life the values of the Commonwealth Charter and to explore conscious innovation in global fashion and its important relationship with the citizenship that is the Commonwealth’.

The partnership will see GCM deliver two sessions to enable meaningful dialogue across the Commonwealth Fashion Industries (CFI’s). One of those for February 2018 to coincide with London Fashion Week and another to coincide with the launch of the Commonwealth Fashion Council during the Commonwealth Summit, which begins, April 16th. The sessions will then form a blueprint for council members to further discussions across our Commonwealth.

GCM will also reiterate the constitution of the CFC and develop more conscious ‘frameworks’ for the day to day running of the council. Those frameworks include creating a table to measure programmes against our purpose, to see if programmes align with our overall mission and to demonstrate clearly how the ‘Global Conscious Movement’ can improve the productivity, and readiness of the CFC.

Daniel Hatton the Director and Founder of the CFC said: ‘The Commonwealth Charter is the foundation of todays ‘Contemporary Commonwealth’. I believe that the Charter has within it a moral compass for people and business and implemented in the right way, with accountability, will ensure its principles of; democracy, anti corruption, sustainability, youth and gender empowerment, to name a few. To be conscious and compassionate can, as we will demonstrate, improve profitability, productivity and the sharing of knowledge.

The Commonwealth today is a voluntary association of 52 nations, with 2.4 billion citizens – 60% are below the age of 30 years. This family of nations spans across Africa, Asia, Pacific, Caribbean, Europe and Americas and include most of humanities ideologies.

The Commonwealth has 1 billion consumers and the highest number of consumer classes and middle classes. This presents an opportunity for GCM and the CFC to connect with this ‘youth oriented market’ to educate and influence a more conscious consumer and emerging businesses.
